Celebrate your Progress and your Accomplishments in 2014

2015 ....will be here in a couple of days. As we leave 2014 behind, I want you to look back on this year and think of.....  and write down all the things you did.... and accomplished during this year.

So many times as we look back on the year we are leaving behind. We are so quick to point out all the things we didn't do.....what we didn't get done.

"I didn't loose the weight that I planned to loose, I didn't quit smoking, I only went to the gym for one month and then I quit, I did not leave my destructive relationship, I am still hanging out with my negative family-members.".....does this sound familiar?

How about focusing instead on all the things that YOU did do! Make a shift and start counting all the accomplishments and all the things that YOU did.... during this past year.

Get a pen and a paper and allow at least 30 minutes of undisturbed quiet-time for yourself. Start writing down all the things that you accomplished during 2014. Starting with January and work your way through the year.
I bet when you get done writing and look at your list....you will be surprised to discover that you did more than you thought you did and that you accomplished a lot of important and wonderful things that you had already forgotten about. Overcame a lot of challenges.
As you get done with your list, and you might have to come back to it several times to add some more things. Look at this list every day and........

Celebrate YOURSELF and your Accomplishments!
Big or small, it doesn't matter...You did a great job!

Focus on what worked in 2014, all the wonderful things that you did! We are always so hard on ourselves, always pointing out all the "negative" things instead of all the great positive things.
Celebrate 2014, you did the best you could and you are still here and you get another chance to do all over again in 2015.
Even if you messed up a little.....It's OK!
Learn form what didn't wok out and then let it go. Hopefully we have ALL grown a lot during this past year. Learned a lot of new things, some good and then some....not so good. Overcame a lot of obstacles.

Celebrate....because you are still alive and you will get another year.....and make 2015, your best year ever!

Having a Great Holiday!

With the holidays now in full swing, many of us will be gathering with family and friends.

We may feel a mix of anticipation, excitement and in some cases a certain amount of reluctance about seeing various loved ones.

Holidays ca also be very difficult to go through when you have lost loved ones.

Christmas is a time for food, celebration, gift-giving and fun. But it can also be a lonely time. Many adults spend the holidays feeling isolated and depressed.

Whatever reservations we feel, we'll put on a happy face and not make waves to spoil the celebration.

If this sounds familiar , and you are feeling a little guilty about not brimming over with unconditional love for everyone.....
Please forgive yourself for being human!

Give yourself permission to design a holiday experience that satisfy and fulfills YOU....one in which you get to do the things you want to do, and say.

This holiday season just be yourself.....and allow the people around you to do the same.

"If you are not concerned about the outcome of a circumstance, you will experience no fear.
Whatever the outcome will be, will be, whether you fear it or not."      - Chin Ning Chu

Do you need some help handling holiday stress and family challenges? Please go to my website and sign up for a FREE Coaching Session. You will have my undivided no-strings-attached attention for 30 full minutes, to talk about what will help you NOW.

How to Live the Life of your Dreams

We all need to fertilize our minds by attending events, going to seminars, reading inspirational books and articles and learning from mentors both in-person and through their products.

This is how you develop your knowledge, grow your skills and become better at what you do.

Like a farmer that learns over time when to sow and when to reap and when to fertilize.

The more you know - through experience, coaching and seeking out secret to success -  the better you will be.

It doesn't matter what you do - you must fertilize your mind every chance you get. That's how you become so good that people can't ignore you.

Also, get to know yourself. We study everybody around us. We want to be like them. But find out who you truly are and always be yourself. Learn about YOU

It's how you make great breakthroughs in life and live the life of your dreams.

Tools for your Toolbox (setting and achieving goals)

I am sure that you have heard about the importance of Setting Goals and  having a Clear Vision of what you want your life to look like.

As a life Coach I am big on having a vision and then creating a game plan on how to get from where you are today to where you want to be.

Unfortunately people spend more time planning their vacations then they plan their lives.
.
Your game plan is like a road map....How would you know how to get from Houston to Los Angeles if you didn't have a map or a GPS?

The same thing goes for your goal or your vision....how are you going to get there if you don't know where you going? Or if you don't have a detailed game plan or a map on how to get there?

Many people set goals, but never reach them.

Here are a few empowering facts:

- Writing your goals down increases the likelihood of accomplish them by 42%

- Sharing goals with peers increases the likelihood of accomplish them by 50%

- Having a friend receiving weekly progress reports increases the likelihood of accomplish them by
  77%

A common thread to all of these statistics is this: Goals need to be removed from our imagination and brought out into the real world.
When we write them down or we share them with those around us, the more "real" they become - and the more committed we become to making them happen.

So what are you waiting for.....Start writing down and start sharing you goals!

How to stop Procrastinate and Increase Productivity!

Would you like to be a little more productive?

If you answered YES to this question..... I have a few great and practical tips that will get you moving toward your goals and squeeze the most out of your day.

Before leaving your office at the end of the day, make a list of the six most important things or projects you have to do the following day and number them in the order of their importance.

Scratch off each item after you finish it. Then go to the next item on your list. If something doesn't get done, put it on the following day's list

To avoid Procrastination.... always put the most difficult task on the top of the list so that you make sure that you tackle the most difficult item first and get it out of the way.
If you don't you might be running around doing hundred unimportant things to avoid the most difficult task and it may drain your energy and you won't even know it.
I always feel  much better and more energized as I get the most difficult task out of the way.
Also I feel that my day is off to a good start and I am getting momentum for the rest of the day.

Why is it so important to write these things down the night before.
First.. you don't have to waste a lot of time in the morning, running around trying to figure out "what to do". You will start the day READY TO GO.

Second...your subconscious will also be working on those six projects while you are sleeping. And maybe when you wake up your subconscious mind have come up with some ideas and solutions to your tasks and projects.

Effective, productive people discipline themselves to start on the most important task that is before them. As a result, they accomplish vastly more than the average person and are much happier as a result. Maybe this should be your way of working as well.

There is nothing that will shape you destiny more than your habits. Because we are the sum of the choices that we will make in our lives. Those Choices are greatly influenced by our habits.....good or bad.

Now...before you go to bed tonight, figure out what you need to do tomorrow. Write your list of the six most important things you need to accomplish tomorrow.

Quantum Leaps

The first step to making a quantum leap is making a decision. Many times, the freedom of having so many choices stops us from choosing one.

We often find ourselves on the fence of indecision, thinking, "what should I do? what does others think I should do?" We start evaluating our abilities, becoming discouraged about the possibilities before we even commit to a certain goal, or outcome.

in my experience, a clear, specific definition of your intended direction is critical. If you do not know the destination, how will you know if you are off course? You can't reach your goal without clarity of vision.

It was clarity of purpose that helped me break the first of many records in my Mary Kay business - but my path, as so many times before, was not a straight one. I failed early and often. The I did something that changed my life. I went to a retreat and placed myself in an environment that causes change. The speakers and stories made me feel as though it was "my time." Shortly after that, I prevailed, and my dreams became a reality. Nothing had changed except the clarity of my vision. The company didn't change, the products didn't change, and my approach didn't change.
What did change was my clarity about where I was going. I became committed to making the change happen. With that decision, obstacles started to move out of my way.

To create a Quantum Leap, you have to really want it. I call it moving from the "Want To lane" to the "Got To lane." When you have chosen to take action, you have crossed into Decision Zone.

From the book Quantum Leaps by Gloria Mayfield Banks

Are you Attracting What you Want?

Do you believe in the 'Law of Attraction'? Have you ever heard of it? The law of Attraction is constantly in motion......whether you have heard of it or not.

A lot of us are trying to transform our lives but we don't understand why we keep on attracting the same things into our lives that we are trying to avoid.

The Law of Attraction states that what you consistently think about and have emotions about is what is going to come about. The emotions could be good or bad ones. The Law of Attraction, doesn't care. If you really want something and you feel really good about it, you will most likely get it.

On the other hand, if you do not want something at all, and feel bad about the prospect of having it, you will probably get it, too!!!

The Law of Attraction doesn't care....GOOD or BAD....you will get it.

If you are trying to transform your life, the first thing you need to understand is the power of attention and it is absolutely vital to regain control of your life experience.

- Where focus goes, energy flows
- What you focus on will expand
- You attract what you focus on

The following is called "Manifestivities" by Henk Schram

There is this parable of a Cherokee Native American who was teaching his grandchildren about life:

"A fight is going on inside of me...it is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One wolves represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret , greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, inferiority, lies, pride and superiority.

The other wolf stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.

The same fight is going on inside of you and every other person too."

The grandkids thought about it for  while and then one of them asked:

"Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee answered:

"The one you feed."

The moral of the story is simple

What you focus on and what you will give energy to..... will expand. That includes;

- What you do
- What you say
- What you write
- What you think

That is the basic premise of what is referred to as the "Law of Attraction."

Whatever we feel on the inside, we experience on the outside.

So Today as you go through your day become more aware of your thoughts and you actions. Pay attention what you focus on...... what you write....... and what you say.

Be HAPPIER right NOW

Being happy doesn't have to be as complicated as we often make it out to be.

Here are a few tips to increase your happiness in a few minutes or less.

1. Be in the moment. It is easy to fall in the habit of dwelling in the past or looking to the future.
Staying in the present moment is essential for your well-being.

2. Surround yourself with people that are happy and uplifting. Happiness, joy and inspiration is
contagious. Spend a little time with someone who has an abundance of energy.

3. Feed yourself with inspiration. Listen to energizing music is an easy way to elevate your mood.
Find motivational quotes. Listen to audios of inspirational speakers. Search for inspiration every
    day.

4. Laughter is one of the best antidotes for a heavy mood. Laughter and smiling releases
endorphins, the 'happy hormone' in the brain and is regarded as nature's cure for the blues.

5. Allow yourself time to connect. Make time to sit quietly each day and reconnect with your
intuition and life purpose. Allowing your mind to to slow down each day is an important habit
    to keep.

6. Beautify your space. Get yourself a nice bouquet of flowers. We can't deny that everyone has a
positive reaction to flowers! Put a bouquet of flowers in an area of your home where you can
see them and you'll find your spirits being lifted.

7. Mix things up. If you are following the same routine and structure every day, it has a way of
    killing your inspiration and creativity.

Be the Hero of your Own Journey

Do you realize that you are the star in your own movie? The hero of your own journey?

Every second of the day, you have the power to edit, improve and create new chapters of your own story ...... your own movie.

So exactly what are you creating right now?

Are you giving thought and energy to something that will empower you..... or to something that will dis-empower you and weigh you down?

Are you believing in the same old lie that you have been telling yourself for years.....(that you are not good enough and don't deserve love and happiness...or any other false belief)....that is only hurting and dis-empowering you.

But the truth is.... we always have the a choice: to be a victim of our circumstances or concsiously create new circumstances.

So why don't you make a choice today to let go of the things that drains your energy and makes you unhappy and declare that from this moment forward, you will only welcome more of what brings you love and joy.

Today...I declare to The Universe that........ I AM the Star in My Own Movie!

Giving Thanks For Who You Are

I came across these beautiful words written by Loren M. Gelberg - Goff

So many times when don't see how truly beautiful we all are.

                                                     Through My Eyes

If you could see yourself through my eyes,
You'd see how beautiful you are.
If you could see yourself through my eyes,
You'd see how you sparkle when you smile.
If you could see yourself through my eyes,
You'd see how you light up when you're just being you.
If you could see yourself through my eyes,
You would know that you shine from within.
If you could see yourself through my eyes,
You would know that who you are is a gift to anyone who knows you.

Feel the FEAR and do it ANYWAY!

Why is it that so many of us are conditioned to think that we inadequate if we feel scared?
Being afraid is a very normal emotion that ALL of us have.

What separates us is how we deal with that fear!

Don't try to eliminate fear.....Try instead to develop COURAGE!

Learn to become comfortable with feeling uncomfortable

Our lives are limited within the confines of our "comfort zone." When we get out of our comfort zone, and become uncomfortable, we grow.
And over time, the things that used to scare us......no longer does.

So what are you going to do the next time you feel fear?

Fear is like a muscle.... You have to work it every day. The way you work it is by doing one small thing every day that scares you.

So what small thing are you going to do today......to get out of your COMFORT ZONE?

Food for your Soul

"Love can make up for a great many things that are missing in your life. But,
if you don't have love, no matter what else you have, it is never enough."
                                                                 - Ann Landers

"Primary food is more than what is on your plate. Healthy relationships, regular physical activity, a fulfilling career and a spiritual practice can fill your soul and satisfy your hunger for life.
When primary food is balanced and satisfying, your life feeds you, making what you eat secondary."
                                                                     - Joshua Rosenthal from Integrative Nutrition

"Sometimes we are fed not by the food but by the energy in our lives. These moments and feelings demonstrate that everything is food. We take in thousands of experiences of life that can fulfill us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
We hunger for play, fun, touch, romance, intimacy, love, achievement, success, art, music, self-expression. leadership, excitement, adventure and spirituality.
All of these elements are essential forms of nourishment. The extent to which we are able to incorporate them determines how enjoyable and worthwhile our lives feel."

Thanksgiving Thoughts; Thankfulness in Times of Trouble

Thanksgiving is a time for food, celebration, and fun. Every year on Thanksgiving, families gather around the table to enjoy a meal and give thanks. But for some folks, Thanksgiving can be a lonely time. Many adults spend the holidays feeling lonely and isolated.

Today as we celebrate this Thanksgiving, it is important to remember that it's about more than being thankful for one day, it is an entire lifetime. Today is the day to be thankful for all the things in your life, no matter how big they are, or how small. Even in our deepest sorrow, we can find things to be thankful for.

Holidays bring out emotional pain. The time of year can be difficult for any one who has suffered a loss. Should you be missing loved ones this holiday, rejoice that they are with Go. Don't push yourself today; allow yourself that time to grieve.

For those who may be feeling depressed this Thanksgiving holiday, open your heart to giving. Helping other people in need is a wonderful way to celebrate the day and may feel less alone. Check out communities in your area that may need volunteers during the holidays - example: soup kitchens, shelters, hospitals, or reach out to your local church.

Life is full of unexpected changes. Death is very much part of life. Whatever you do today, don't cover up your feelings of depression and isolation. Own up to those feelings and know that you are not alone. Somewhere today, someone is feeling the same way that you are.

Today on this Thanksgiving Day please remember, though the harvest might not always be plentiful, family and friends may be few, God has given us each a great deal to be thankful for. It's my experience that it's much easier to thank God for our blessings than to find a way to be thankful in the midst of our troubles.

I'm thankful that I have the strength to meet the challenges that come with life. I'm thankful for each memory that family and friends have given me. I'm thankful for having a profound understanding that is is more important to give than to receive. This Thanksgiving I have much to be thankful for.

"Not what you say about our blessings, but how we use them,
is the true measure of our thanksgiving."          - W.T. Purkiser -

Today be thankful for what you have to give, not just what you have received.

Happy Thanksgiving !                                                               By Rose DesRochers

I doesn't have to be perfect - Just start!

It is not necessary to have perfection before we take the first step towards our goals.

We don't have to have the "perfect business plan" before we start following our passions and dreams.

We can take on small step TODAY.

Write a blog-post. Coach a friend. Ask for advice

EVERY SMALL STEP MATTERS.

Don't seek perfectionism ......... Seek GROWTH.

Be willing to take the first step into an unknown territory and trust that you can learn what you need to learn.
You will grow and learn from  all experiences ....and don't judge yourself for your mistakes...because they are opportunities to refine yourself, your vision and your plan.

Start Today.....One little step toward our DREAMS!

Growing Pains - Taking it to the next Level

Remember the growing pains you experienced as a child?

Your bones hurt, your muscles ached, you felt anxious about the unknown future....

This is not unlike the the growing pains you will feel in your journey toward higher consciousness.

As you move to your next level, you may experience similar - fear of the unknown future, sadness of letting go of those who did not see your new vision, and general achiness and worry about doing it the "right way".

There is no "right way" to do it. As you reach toward your next level, stay focused on your goal or vision and allow the rest to fall away.

What is stopping you from TAKING ACTION right now....?

And what can you do about it?

Be Courageous.....Take Action......Make it Happen !

Do the Things Today that will Guarantee the Life You Want to Live TOMORROW

I Know You Can!

The Law of Attraction

"Every thought vibrates, every thought radiates a signal, and every thought attracts a matching signal back.
We call that process The Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction says: That which is like unto itself is drawn.
And, so, you might see the powerful Law of Attraction as a sort of Universal Manager that sees to it that all thoughts that match one another line up.
                                                                      - Ester and Jerry Hicks from Ask and it is Given -

Compare Law of Attraction to tuning a radio. If you would like to listen to soft-rock on 97.5 FM, we can't expect to hear it if our radio is tuned into 103.5 FM.
The radio waves of one frequency can only be received by a matching tuner.

Same thing in the real world.

If we want to receive love and kindness in our life. We need to set our tuner to the same vibrational frequency as love and kindness.

Ex. If you are rude, do not expect to get or receive overwhelming amount of love and kindness in your life.

It is impossible.

You are putting our "rude" energy and it is what you are going to receive back.

You are going to get back what you put out!

So let's pick the energy that we put out conscientiously and make sure that we are tuned into listening to wonderful "love-songs".

Accept What Is!!!

The more we can accept our lives the more happiness will will experience. Look at you life with gratitude, there are gifts in all our lives. Life will never be exactly how we envisioned it, there will be plenty of ups and downs and twists and turns along our way to our dreams. There will be challenges and a lot of times we will feel stuck. There will be times of fun and joy and then there will be obstacles that will stop us in our tracks.

This is called LIFE!

The more we stop trying to control the outcome, the more happiness we will experience. Magic happens in the unknown. If we knew every outcome, we might feel safer, but it will be very boring.

We can do a lot to create the life that we want.; Getting clear on what we want, visualization, prayer and meditation as well as a lot of hard work. This is how things happen, but often we are frustrated when it is not going according to our plan.

When we tap into trust and faith, doubt can disappear. Trust that you were born as a great being who has as much to share with the world and that life may have an even better outcome than you imagined. Trust that the Universe want you to be happy and is working in your interest to help you succeed.

Acceptance eases fear and anxiety of the unknown and brings HAPPINESS.

Wins

A good daily success habit to get into is to be consciously, intentionally and deliberately looking for what's working, what's going right in your life on a consistent basis.

The more you deliberately look for what's working or going right, the more you attract that works and goes well for you.

Disappointments and Missed Expectation

If you are a human you have probably experienced disappointment on some level.
- I don't have enough happiness in my life.
- I don't enjoy the work that I do.
- I don't have the relationships that I want.
- I don't have enough money
- I don't have the body that I want.
Does this sound familiar?

Disappointment = Expectations - Reality. Which means we are not happy because we expect things to be different than how they really are.
Does this make sense to you?

So why do we struggle so much with feeling disappointed? Why do we continue to bang our heads up against the wall?
It is because we got hidden expectations and they are wrecking havoc on our ability to enjoy the day.

TIP:
  • Take out a piece of paper and of top of it write "I should be ___________."
  • Now - fill in the blank.
  • Write down all of those "shoulds". Especially the ones that doesn't seem to make sense
  • What should you be doing with regards to your happiness, work, relationships, money, your body and level of fitness, where you live, your family and friends and even yourself.
  • Now - Which "shoulds" do you want to get rid of?
  • Which "shoulds" are really going to empower you to live a more happy and meaningful life filled with fun and purpose?
  • Discard any of the "shoulds or expectations that aren't truly serving you. They are creating expectations for a reality that doesn't exist.

What is your vision for your life?

Anyone can have a dream, but it takes determination, perseverance and a made-up mind to see it come to pass. - The question is not will you start....but will you finish.?

DON'T SIT ON THE SIDELINES!

"Life is either a great adventure or nothing."    - Helen Keller -

Life should be an adventure, to be savored from the beginning to the end. It is a game of constantly changing odds, constantly developing challenges, constantly opening opportunities.

To win, you have to play it. Sitting on the sidelines won't do.

Many people have big dreams, they are excited about their future, but along the way, they hit some setbacks, face discouragement and find themselves stuck.

When you are creating your "BIG" dream make sure you surround yourself with positive influences. When you are surrounded by negative thinkers, image and materials, it is easy to get bogged down in hopelessness.

Read inspiring books and magazines. Listen to motivational recordings and speakers. Make it a point to read and watch or listen to something positive and inspiring at least once every day.

Associate with positive people. Look for friends who feel good about themselves, people who have the attitude of gratitude. People who need to tear down others are not happy with themselves and are not good for your attitude.

Do you need a Life Coach?

When you are working hard on trying to create a vision for your life and changing your old habits, there are so many twists and turns that can lead you down the "wrong" path.
Honestly...I don't believe there are any wrong turns on the path to crating our vision and goals.
Every step along the journey is valuable because there are always new things to lean, if you are willing to except the lessons and grow from it.

But it can be frustrating when you are doing all the things you think you should be doing, and it's not working and you see no changes!

Working with a Life Coach can be extremely helpful because they can offer a outside perspective and lend their years of experience and insight to help you reach your goals a lot faster than you would be able to do on your own.

If you have been struggling to manifest your dreams and desires and it's not working for you,

WORKING WITH A LIFE COACH MIGHT BE JUST WHAT YOU NEED!

A coach can help you get crystal clear on what you are REALLY trying to achieve, help you identify and remove blockages that are holding you back, help you raise your awareness, your frequency and dissolve limiting beliefs, and troubleshoot your challenges and obstacles as you go along.

Morning Rituals

I do believe that how we start our days is how we live our lives.

For me it started many years ago. The only quiet time I had was very early in the morning before the rest of the household woke up.

So I started to get up 30 minutes before anybody else. I lit a candle and heated up a cup of tea . As I was sipping on my tea I realized how "Clear" my brain and my thoughts felt. I wasn't upset with anything and I just really felt grateful for a new day approaching as I was looking outside the window watching the sun appear and the day slowly starting.

After doing this for awhile I realized that I had a better, more productive and more peaceful day, if I get my 30-45 minutes of quiet time, first thing in the morning.

Fast forward to today.... 6 years later. A lot has changed in my life but I still start my day with at least one hour of quiet time, with my candle lit and sipping on my hot tea. Very seldom do I go a day without it. If I have to.... I feel like something is missing!!!

Do you simply have a better day? More lit from within, more trusting, more creative? I believe so.

When your life is high-jacked form the very beginning with other people's needs and demands, email, texts and social media..... it is simply time to ask yourself...
.
"Hey, what kind of day do I want to have?"
Do you lose track of your heart and also what's possible?

Perhaps you have turned into a reactive person....instead of the compassionate and loving person that you want to be.

I have found out that I do my best "thinking" early in the morning. I get great ideas for my newsletters and blogs that I will write later. Creative ideas for my coaching business and for my workshops and also answers to some personal issues that I couldn't figure out the day before. In the early morning hours the best ideas will come to me. But I have to be quiet because the ideas will come in very settled ways and if I don't take time to slow down, pay attention and listen, I would  miss all the messages and information that is going to be very beneficial to my life.

Morning rituals remind me....."I get to choose my life"

Give a moment to think:

How would I like to start my day

How would I like to feel as a result of my morning ritual?

What works, or has worked and what would I like to change about my mornings?

Don't take anything Personally

 A Great Book to read!

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS introduced a simple but powerful code of conduct for attaining personal freedom and true happiness.

"2nd Agreement. Don't take anything Personally.

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.
When you are immune to the opinions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

                                                                                   - Don Miguel Ruiz from The Four Agreements -

Are you taking what other people say to you personally?

Someone tells you you're nice. Someone tells you you're rude.

Don't take either one personally.

If we are looking to others for our sense of self and sense of well-being, we are subject to the moods and whims of others.

Not a good way to live. We must learn to NOT take anything personally.

The Four Agreements

- Be impeccable with your word.

- Don't take anything personally.

- Don't make assumptions

- Always do your best.

Obstacles Are The Stepping Stones Of Success

A Man was walking in the park one day when he came upon a cocoon with a small opening. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggles to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It looked like it had gotten as far as it could, so the man decided to help the butterfly. He used his pocketknife and snipped the remaining of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily, but something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected at any moment the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened . In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to emerge was natural. It was nature's way of forcing fluid from its body into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom.

                                                                                                              by Harvey Mackay

Sometimes struggling in a cocoon are exactly what we need in our lives to be able to fly, once again, to new heights.

A Life Lesson I learned from My Dog Lady!

They say that people show up in our lives to mirror back to us what me most need to learn at that time in our life. I believe that the same thing is true for our pets. They hold up a mirror and show us what we need to become aware of and what we need to work on.

This is absolutely true for my dog Lady. I adopted her last year in October from a shelter after my other dog Coco had passed away. Coco was a chocolate Labrador retriever and very calm and slow moving.
Lady on the other hand is a hyper and energetic 7-year old yellow female.

I have another adopted Labrador retriever, 8-year old Nikki. Well...Nikki bit Lady the first day at our house, just to put her in her place and let her know... who is the boss. (No one got hurt)

I realized quickly that Lady had a lot of nervous energy. She also appeared to have abandonment issues. Poor girl....she was such a sweetheart but so scared that I would walk away and leave her. She has been my constant shadow, this past year.

So .... dealing with Lady I had to learn a lot more PATIENCE. I thought I was being a pretty patient person. Working as a Life Coach and helping other peoples with their issues and teaching them how to center themselves. I have studied so much personal development and I meditate twice a day. I don't get upset when I have to wait in line or when people cut me off in traffic. I don't argue with people and I don't have to be right ... I rather be happy and walk away from a heated discussion or argument.

Well....as they say .... There is always room for improvement! There is always another level to reach for.

I realized quickly that Lady was pushing some of my buttons and that I had to learn to become a more patient person and don't feed into her energy. All she wanted was some love and attention.

I am happy to announce that in this past year I have grown a lot and learned a lot from Lady and YES....I have a lot more patience. The lessons you learn when you adopt a co-dependent adult dog with abandonment issues.

The reward is.... all the kisses and love that I can handle!!!!!

Thanks Lady for being the MIRROR that I needed.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.

You are his life, his love, his leader.

He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.

You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."       - Unknown-
