One Month To Live

"Do what you feel is right,
                                                           and back yourself up.
Live the life you want to live."
                                                              - Jack Barakat

What would you do if you only have 30 days to live?

Would you change a few things in your life, right away or would you continue to do the same things?

I bet you would change, if you knew that the next 30 days would be your last on this earth.

What kind of changes would you actually make?

Who would you spend time with?

Would you care about what people thought about you?

Would you have any regrets?

Would you continue to waste your time?

The things that you tell yourself that you would do..... "Someday"....would you do those things?

I read this wonderful book a couple of weeks ago written by Kerry and Chris Shook....
One Month To Live.

Kerry and Chris Shook founded Woodlands Church in Texas and they wrote this book together in 2008.

I recommend this book. Pick it up today.

"One day you will wake up
and there won't be any more time to do the things you always wanted.
                                                                    Do it now."
                                                               - Paulo Coelho

Keep On Learning

                                                               "Never stop learning,
                                                     because life never stops teaching."

I knew this woman once that had a living room filled with bookshelves and all the bookshelves were filled with books.
Almost all books were about nutrition, health, diets and how to have a better life. I was impressed by her library.

I was thinking to myself the first time I met her ……."WOW, this woman must really be a very healthy and nutritious person. She must really live a perfect lifestyle when it comes to being healthy and in shape."

Not so, quite the opposite. She wasn't in good shape at all. And her lifestyle wasn't anything to brag about.

So I finally asked her, "Have you read all of these books?" and her answer was "NO."

"Have you read most of them?" was my next question.
Again her answer was "NO. But I have looked through them a little when I bought them."

And then she told me that she loved to buy books and that she wanted to get in better shape and live a healthier life. But that was a far as she gotten.

In other words her self-help books had become shelf-help books.

You know, the books that you don't read will never help you.
You won't getter better and improve just by buying the books. You you actually have to take the time to read them. And them on top of that you must also implement some of the ideas in the book if you want to grow, learn and expand in life.

I love to buy books too. And I have to admit that I haven't read all the my books that I have bought.
But I have a goal to read a book per week and most of the weeks I am accomplishing this goal.

You never know what kind of ideas you can find hidden in all these books. Be willing to read and look for them.
You never know when you will find the information and the next idea, that will totally change your life.
Be willing to set some time aside to further your own education.
There are books about every topics that you can think of. Be willing to do the work. Read the books.

You know, the majority of people don't ever make it past the first chapter. Don't let that be you.

Reading one book per week will require you to read about 40-50 pages per day. I think it's a great goal to have for 2019.
Read more. And I am talking about..... non-fiction books.

Do yourself a huge favor this year and work on improving yourself and your own mind. At this time next year, you will be glad that you did.
Our education never stops. But once you leave school, it's up to you to keep your education going. No one can make you do it.
It's easy to do.....and easy not to do.

So today I want to challenge you to get that book out that you have been wanting to read for a long time. Take time to actually read it. Cover to cover.
Learn something new and then implement it in your life.

Love Heals

                                                             "Love cures people,
both the ones who give it
and the ones that receive it."
                                                               - Karl Menninger

It is true that love heals. What do you think?

Unconditional love is the most powerful stimulant of the immune system. The truth is: love heals.
Miracles happen to exceptional patients every day - patients who have the courage to love, those who have the courage to work with their doctor's to participate in and influence their own recovery.

I read an amazing book about a month ago...…
Love, Medicine & Miracles, written by Bernie S. Siegel, M.D.
Lessons learned about self-healing from a surgeon's experience with exceptional patients.

Bernie S. Siegel is also the author of another wonderful book.....Peace, Love and Healing. I read that book a couple of years ago, it too was a fantastic book.

Taking care of unfinished business may someday come to be recognized as the most effective pain reliever and preparation for surgery.

To live is to suffer: to survive is to find meaning in the suffering.

We will never meet anything we can't handle.

A frightened person is really saying, "Love me." But we tend to reject that person and get angry. Then he or she gets more frightened and often hoards anger until it hardens into resentment or hate.
To hate is easy, but it is healthier to love. When you are feeling afraid, if you ask someone for a hug, for some love, the fear will quiet down.

When we choose to love, healing energy is released in our bodies.

Get people to love themselves and listen to their bodies.

Good nutrition is an essential part of any treatment program.

Time after time, research has shown that people who give vent to their negative emotions survive adversity better than those who are emotionally constricted.

There are no incurable diseases, only incurable people.

The healing is better in our conscious minds, but we must look for healing in the dark unconscious.

The body responds to the mind's messages, whether conscious or unconscious.

The mind and the body are not separate units, but one integrated system. How we act and what we think, eat, and feel are all related to health.

"Love itself is the healing power
and the remedy for all pain."
                                                              - Hazrat Inayat Khan

Invest In Yourself, Or No One Else Will

"Investing in yourself is the best investment
                                                                   you will ever make.
It will not only improve your life,
it will improve the lives of all those around you."
                                                                    - Robin S. Sharma

It's  sad but true that the majority of  people don't spend time on personal development.
They spend time on developing other skills but most of the time they don't even spend 10 minutes to help and develop themselves. Maybe it's more like one minute per day, if even that.

If we want to live a happy and fulfilling life we must put a little more effort into it.
Learn to exercise your mind on a daily base. Either by reading something or by listening to something educational, empowering and uplifting. Something that will strengthen our mind.

You know, our environment is a lot of times tearing us down. And sometimes the people that we have to be around can be negative and sometimes toxic. So in order to withstand the pressure of the negativity that we are being bombarded with on a daily base it's important that we take some time to work on ourselves and to strengthen our own mind.

We must constantly also work on our own thoughts and feelings. Little by little every day will in the end make a huge difference. But we have to start somewhere. Why not start today, right where you are. No more excuses. Today is the perfect day to start making a change in your life.

Make yourself the most important person right now and decide that you are going to work on yourself for a few minutes per day, every day.
Decide that you are going to do the work.

This is why I wrote my latest book.....

Living On Less

                                                         "Whatever your income,
                                                   always live below your means."
                                                           - Thomas J. Stanley

"Average people live beyond their means.
                                                       Rich people live below theirs.
                                                                 - Steven Siebold

Have you read the book.....The Millionaire Next Door, written by Thomas J. Stanley Ph. D and William D. Danko?

It's a fantastic book and I strongly recommend it.

But today I want to talk about another great book also written by Thomas J. Stanley..... called Millionaire Women Next Door. The Many Journeys Of Successful American Businesswomen.

Do you have a clearly defined set of daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and lifetime goals?

Do you want to become wealthy to consume more?

Do you usually live below your means or beyond?

Most Americans are not free. They are chained to their paychecks.
The women profiled herein will not tolerate such an existence. They are a different breed.
They are cultivators of wealth and satisfied with life. They are in control of their own destiny.

So how did these women become wealthy?

What contributes to their happiness and high self-esteem?

What types of vocations did these women choose?

How many hours per week do they work?

Why are they so successful?

How do some women become millionaires while working part-time?

You will get the answers to these questions and many more questions that you might have, by reading this great book. I recommend it!

Just because you can afford it,
doesn't mean that you should buy it.
