Food for your Soul

"Love can make up for a great many things that are missing in your life. But,
if you don't have love, no matter what else you have, it is never enough."
                                                                 - Ann Landers

"Primary food is more than what is on your plate. Healthy relationships, regular physical activity, a fulfilling career and a spiritual practice can fill your soul and satisfy your hunger for life.
When primary food is balanced and satisfying, your life feeds you, making what you eat secondary."
                                                                     - Joshua Rosenthal from Integrative Nutrition

"Sometimes we are fed not by the food but by the energy in our lives. These moments and feelings demonstrate that everything is food. We take in thousands of experiences of life that can fulfill us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
We hunger for play, fun, touch, romance, intimacy, love, achievement, success, art, music, self-expression. leadership, excitement, adventure and spirituality.
All of these elements are essential forms of nourishment. The extent to which we are able to incorporate them determines how enjoyable and worthwhile our lives feel."

Thanksgiving Thoughts; Thankfulness in Times of Trouble

Thanksgiving is a time for food, celebration, and fun. Every year on Thanksgiving, families gather around the table to enjoy a meal and give thanks. But for some folks, Thanksgiving can be a lonely time. Many adults spend the holidays feeling lonely and isolated.

Today as we celebrate this Thanksgiving, it is important to remember that it's about more than being thankful for one day, it is an entire lifetime. Today is the day to be thankful for all the things in your life, no matter how big they are, or how small. Even in our deepest sorrow, we can find things to be thankful for.

Holidays bring out emotional pain. The time of year can be difficult for any one who has suffered a loss. Should you be missing loved ones this holiday, rejoice that they are with Go. Don't push yourself today; allow yourself that time to grieve.

For those who may be feeling depressed this Thanksgiving holiday, open your heart to giving. Helping other people in need is a wonderful way to celebrate the day and may feel less alone. Check out communities in your area that may need volunteers during the holidays - example: soup kitchens, shelters, hospitals, or reach out to your local church.

Life is full of unexpected changes. Death is very much part of life. Whatever you do today, don't cover up your feelings of depression and isolation. Own up to those feelings and know that you are not alone. Somewhere today, someone is feeling the same way that you are.

Today on this Thanksgiving Day please remember, though the harvest might not always be plentiful, family and friends may be few, God has given us each a great deal to be thankful for. It's my experience that it's much easier to thank God for our blessings than to find a way to be thankful in the midst of our troubles.

I'm thankful that I have the strength to meet the challenges that come with life. I'm thankful for each memory that family and friends have given me. I'm thankful for having a profound understanding that is is more important to give than to receive. This Thanksgiving I have much to be thankful for.

"Not what you say about our blessings, but how we use them,
is the true measure of our thanksgiving."          - W.T. Purkiser -

Today be thankful for what you have to give, not just what you have received.

Happy Thanksgiving !                                                               By Rose DesRochers

I doesn't have to be perfect - Just start!

It is not necessary to have perfection before we take the first step towards our goals.

We don't have to have the "perfect business plan" before we start following our passions and dreams.

We can take on small step TODAY.

Write a blog-post. Coach a friend. Ask for advice

EVERY SMALL STEP MATTERS.

Don't seek perfectionism ......... Seek GROWTH.

Be willing to take the first step into an unknown territory and trust that you can learn what you need to learn.
You will grow and learn from  all experiences ....and don't judge yourself for your mistakes...because they are opportunities to refine yourself, your vision and your plan.

Start Today.....One little step toward our DREAMS!

"A year from now, you may wish you had started Today."

Growing Pains - Taking it to the next Level

Remember the growing pains you experienced as a child?

Your bones hurt, your muscles ached, you felt anxious about the unknown future....

This is not unlike the the growing pains you will feel in your journey toward higher consciousness.

As you move to your next level, you may experience similar - fear of the unknown future, sadness of letting go of those who did not see your new vision, and general achiness and worry about doing it the "right way".

There is no "right way" to do it. As you reach toward your next level, stay focused on your goal or vision and allow the rest to fall away.

What is stopping you from TAKING ACTION right now....?

And what can you do about it?

Be Courageous.....Take Action......Make it Happen !

Do the Things Today that will Guarantee the Life You Want to Live TOMORROW

I Know You Can!

The Law of Attraction

"Every thought vibrates, every thought radiates a signal, and every thought attracts a matching signal back.
We call that process The Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction says: That which is like unto itself is drawn.
And, so, you might see the powerful Law of Attraction as a sort of Universal Manager that sees to it that all thoughts that match one another line up.
                                                                      - Ester and Jerry Hicks from Ask and it is Given -

Compare Law of Attraction to tuning a radio. If you would like to listen to soft-rock on 97.5 FM, we can't expect to hear it if our radio is tuned into 103.5 FM.
The radio waves of one frequency can only be received by a matching tuner.

Same thing in the real world.

If we want to receive love and kindness in our life. We need to set our tuner to the same vibrational frequency as love and kindness.

Ex. If you are rude, do not expect to get or receive overwhelming amount of love and kindness in your life.

It is impossible.

You are putting our "rude" energy and it is what you are going to receive back.

You are going to get back what you put out!

So let's pick the energy that we put out conscientiously and make sure that we are tuned into listening to wonderful "love-songs".

Accept What Is!!!

The more we can accept our lives the more happiness will will experience. Look at you life with gratitude, there are gifts in all our lives. Life will never be exactly how we envisioned it, there will be plenty of ups and downs and twists and turns along our way to our dreams. There will be challenges and a lot of times we will feel stuck. There will be times of fun and joy and then there will be obstacles that will stop us in our tracks.

This is called LIFE!

The more we stop trying to control the outcome, the more happiness we will experience. Magic happens in the unknown. If we knew every outcome, we might feel safer, but it will be very boring.

We can do a lot to create the life that we want.; Getting clear on what we want, visualization, prayer and meditation as well as a lot of hard work. This is how things happen, but often we are frustrated when it is not going according to our plan.

When we tap into trust and faith, doubt can disappear. Trust that you were born as a great being who has as much to share with the world and that life may have an even better outcome than you imagined. Trust that the Universe want you to be happy and is working in your interest to help you succeed.

Acceptance eases fear and anxiety of the unknown and brings HAPPINESS.

Wins

A good daily success habit to get into is to be consciously, intentionally and deliberately looking for what's working, what's going right in your life on a consistent basis.

The more you deliberately look for what's working or going right, the more you attract that works and goes well for you.

Disappointments and Missed Expectation

If you are a human you have probably experienced disappointment on some level.
- I don't have enough happiness in my life.
- I don't enjoy the work that I do.
- I don't have the relationships that I want.
- I don't have enough money
- I don't have the body that I want.
Does this sound familiar?

Disappointment = Expectations - Reality. Which means we are not happy because we expect things to be different than how they really are.
Does this make sense to you?

So why do we struggle so much with feeling disappointed? Why do we continue to bang our heads up against the wall?
It is because we got hidden expectations and they are wrecking havoc on our ability to enjoy the day.

TIP:
  • Take out a piece of paper and of top of it write "I should be ___________."
  • Now - fill in the blank.
  • Write down all of those "shoulds". Especially the ones that doesn't seem to make sense
  • What should you be doing with regards to your happiness, work, relationships, money, your body and level of fitness, where you live, your family and friends and even yourself.
  • Now - Which "shoulds" do you want to get rid of?
  • Which "shoulds" are really going to empower you to live a more happy and meaningful life filled with fun and purpose?
  • Discard any of the "shoulds or expectations that aren't truly serving you. They are creating expectations for a reality that doesn't exist.

What is your vision for your life?

Anyone can have a dream, but it takes determination, perseverance and a made-up mind to see it come to pass. - The question is not will you start....but will you finish.?

DON'T SIT ON THE SIDELINES!

"Life is either a great adventure or nothing."    - Helen Keller -

Life should be an adventure, to be savored from the beginning to the end. It is a game of constantly changing odds, constantly developing challenges, constantly opening opportunities.

To win, you have to play it. Sitting on the sidelines won't do.

Many people have big dreams, they are excited about their future, but along the way, they hit some setbacks, face discouragement and find themselves stuck.

When you are creating your "BIG" dream make sure you surround yourself with positive influences. When you are surrounded by negative thinkers, image and materials, it is easy to get bogged down in hopelessness.

Read inspiring books and magazines. Listen to motivational recordings and speakers. Make it a point to read and watch or listen to something positive and inspiring at least once every day.

Associate with positive people. Look for friends who feel good about themselves, people who have the attitude of gratitude. People who need to tear down others are not happy with themselves and are not good for your attitude.

"You are the same today that you are going to be in five years from now except for two things: the people with whom you associate and the books you read."                       - Charles Jones -

  • What is your vision for your life? Do you need to create a new vision?
  • Close your eyes....what do you want your life to look like in 1 year from now.....2 years from now.... 5 years from now?
  • Awaken to the life that you want........Who are you meant to be?

Do you need a Life Coach?

When you are working hard on trying to create a vision for your life and changing your old habits, there are so many twists and turns that can lead you down the "wrong" path.
Honestly...I don't believe there are any wrong turns on the path to crating our vision and goals.
Every step along the journey is valuable because there are always new things to lean, if you are willing to except the lessons and grow from it.

But it can be frustrating when you are doing all the things you think you should be doing, and it's not working and you see no changes!

Working with a Life Coach can be extremely helpful because they can offer a outside perspective and lend their years of experience and insight to help you reach your goals a lot faster than you would be able to do on your own.

If you have been struggling to manifest your dreams and desires and it's not working for you,

WORKING WITH A LIFE COACH MIGHT BE JUST WHAT YOU NEED!

A coach can help you get crystal clear on what you are REALLY trying to achieve, help you identify and remove blockages that are holding you back, help you raise your awareness, your frequency and dissolve limiting beliefs, and troubleshoot your challenges and obstacles as you go along.

Morning Rituals

I do believe that how we start our days is how we live our lives.

For me it started many years ago. The only quiet time I had was very early in the morning before the rest of the household woke up.

So I started to get up 30 minutes before anybody else. I lit a candle and heated up a cup of tea . As I was sipping on my tea I realized how "Clear" my brain and my thoughts felt. I wasn't upset with anything and I just really felt grateful for a new day approaching as I was looking outside the window watching the sun appear and the day slowly starting.

After doing this for awhile I realized that I had a better, more productive and more peaceful day, if I get my 30-45 minutes of quiet time, first thing in the morning.

Fast forward to today.... 6 years later. A lot has changed in my life but I still start my day with at least one hour of quiet time, with my candle lit and sipping on my hot tea. Very seldom do I go a day without it. If I have to.... I feel like something is missing!!!

Do you simply have a better day? More lit from within, more trusting, more creative? I believe so.

When your life is high-jacked form the very beginning with other people's needs and demands, email, texts and social media..... it is simply time to ask yourself...
.
"Hey, what kind of day do I want to have?"
Do you lose track of your heart and also what's possible?

Perhaps you have turned into a reactive person....instead of the compassionate and loving person that you want to be.

I have found out that I do my best "thinking" early in the morning. I get great ideas for my newsletters and blogs that I will write later. Creative ideas for my coaching business and for my workshops and also answers to some personal issues that I couldn't figure out the day before. In the early morning hours the best ideas will come to me. But I have to be quiet because the ideas will come in very settled ways and if I don't take time to slow down, pay attention and listen, I would  miss all the messages and information that is going to be very beneficial to my life.

Morning rituals remind me....."I get to choose my life"

Give a moment to think:

How would I like to start my day

How would I like to feel as a result of my morning ritual?

What works, or has worked and what would I like to change about my mornings?
