Great Things Come Out Of Patience

"Patience  is not the ability to wait,
but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting."
                                                                   - Joyce Meyer

Todays topic......PATIENCE!

Something that most of us could use a little more of. If you are blessed with a lot of patience, you are truly BLESSED.

In todays society where everything is available 24/7, we have become so used to NOT having to wait for anything. We want it now. If the truth comes out, we probably wanted it yesterday.

- Things we order online to be shipped the same day, so we can get it tomorrow.

- The weight that took us 10 years to put on, we want it all gone in 3 month or less.

- Building a business. If we don't see any results within 6 months, we give up and try something new or tell ourselves..... it didn't work.

- We want our money to grow so we invest it in risky adventures and sometimes gambling. We don't want to wait. We want our money to grow quickly so we can spend it.

- We want to get in shape and have the perfect body in 1-3 months, after sitting on the couch every night for 5 years.

- We want our relationships to be like the movies from "Hollywood". Easy, fast and without complications.

- We want our children to be perfect angels.

- Traffic.....no comment needed!

And the list goes on.

Can you relate?

While there is always room for improvement when it comes to having more patience with other people. More patience with you partner, children, parents, your boss, friends and people in stores and restaurant..... serving us. We also could use some more patience with ourselves.

I know that I lose my patience with my computer when it isn't fast enough or isn't working. I also have a dog that is sometimes is a little bit nervous and can bring my impatience to the surface. But the good thing is that she as actually taught me to slow down and she has helped me with to develop a little more patience.

Patience is not created overnight. First you have to become aware of that you might be running a little low on patience. Then make a conscious decision that you must start to work on your patience-muscle. And yes it is a muscle. It can get bigger with constant practice. Usually we lose our temper and our patience over things and people that we have no control over anyway. All we are then doing is wasting a lot of mental energy.

Becoming a master of anything worth doing requires wisdom of patience. Everything worth while will take time. It is a creative process. Take the first step..... and then the next..... and the next.

Where in your life might more patience be needed?
