How is Your Exercise?

It is known that exercise releases "feel good" hormones like serotonin, that makes you feel happier.

Now a study has revealed that exercise can be more effective than anti-depressants.

Many clinical trials show that people with major depression who regular exercise get better at the same rate as they do with anti-depressants.

Research findings show exercise can be just as effective as anti-depressants for the treatment of depression and in some cases even better.

I know that I have always enjoyed walking and moving my body when I have been feeling sad, stressed, depressed or anxious.

I am also lucky to have two walking partners.....my 2 dogs Nikki and Lady.
They are always willing to walk and that keeps me going every day, including some of the days when I feel down and don't want to move.

Dogs are great because they are always happy and ready to go........no matter what!!!!

"All of the sitting of modern life is an outright denial of true nature. We are animals, after all. We are evolved to run and jump and climb, throw spears, fight and dance.
Our bodies were built to move - that's why we have brains in the first place - yet somehow we ended up sitting for hours on end.
Exercise is the best defense you have against anxiety, stress, depression, and a whole host of diseases.
It helps cells repair themselves, and it quite literally heals the effects of stress through the release of something called brain-derived neurotrophic factor, or BNDF. Researchers have found, not surprisingly, that when students exercise regularly, their stress levels drop. Upset? Stressed? Mad? Run.
Still feel that way? Run faster. You've got nothing to lose but weight and stress. Regular exercise is just as effective as drugs for controlling panic disorders. No wonder employees who exercise call in sick fewer days than employees who don't."

How is your exercise?

Maybe you need to start a daily exercise routine?

Maybe Today is the day to make exercise a priority?

TIP!

Break exercise up into small, useful steps.
When you are on the couch, there may be no way you are going to get up and go running.
But if you get up and put on your workout clothes, you'll feel...."I may as well move a bit, and then decide to go outside."

These small gains keep a person going, which is important because we're working against poor motivation and the feeling that nothing matters.

Start small......Baby steps!
