A Litttle Progress Every Day Will Lead To Big Results

"Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going."

                                                                - Jim Rohn

Most of us love to start something ... whether it is a decision to live a healthier lifestyle, losing weight, learning a new skill or starting a new business.

But how long will you go on until you start losing some of your motivation?

Sometimes you will see results quickly but after a while the weigh loss or the new project that you started has come to a standstill. Day after day, nothing changes, and sometimes we will find ourselves wondering, how long can I keep this up, without giving up?

Self-doubt has started to show up. Walking away isn't the answer, but all the negative feelings are starting to eat away at our creativity.

Staying motivated is even harder when it comes to challenging projects that seem to drag on for a long time.

Here are a few tips and strategies to stay focused and get you back on track.

1. Don't lose sight of your vision
Don't forget your goal. Do whatever it takes to keep your goal in sight. Write it down on a piece of paper and read it out load at least twice a day. Find images that represents your goal and create a vision board, and keep that vision board in a place where you can look at it several times a day.
Thinking about why I am working so hard always inspires and energizes me.

2. Always feed your soul
A great way to feed your soul is to spend time around people who are positive and have your best interest at heart. You can also find great support groups online if you don't have any people that are positive around you. Join a brain-storming or master-mind group You can also listen to webinars online. It is very important that you spend time around positive and empowering people that can lift you up if your are feeling a lack of inspiration and motivation.

3. Ask for help
If something isn't working make sure that you ask for help. Ask a friend, co-worker, mentor or hire a coach to assist you. When I find myself feeling stuck I will talk to someone with more experience, that will be able to shed some light on my problem. Sometimes I just need to vent and share my problem with a friend/mentor. Don't worry alone, because worrying alone usually becomes toxic. Share your worry or problem with a trusted friend and together you will most likely always come up with a solution.

4. Get inspired
When I need a little pick-me-up, I usually listen to something on YouTube. Or I read a empowering book. There is also a lot of great articles and blogs online. Sometimes I need a reminder of what is possible for me and also what I am capable of and how to achieve it.

5. If you don't have a hobby ... start one
What bring you joy and what makes you laugh outside of work? My dog Lady is one of my hobbies. I enjoy walking and hiking with her. A great plus with having a dogs is ... they are always happy to see me and they love to spend time with me ... no matter what is going on in my life. Gardening is another very relaxing hobby. Music is great for raising your vibration and feeling inspired again.

6. Donate some of your time
Take the focus of you and your business and help someone else. It will make you feel great. There is always someone out there that needs the information and knowledge that you have. Share your journey with other people.

Some days staying motivated isn't easy. Try not to get too down on yourself when things are not going well.
Success takes time. There will be obstacles in the way. The obstacles are never there to stop you. Just to show you how badly you want to be able to accomplish something and become successful.

Let Your Body Be Your Guide

A couple of weeks ago as I was shopping at a second hand store, when I came across a really great book that I would like to tell you about.

Mind Over Medicine .... written by Lissa Rankin, M. D.

We all know that our mind and our own thoughts can create illness in our own body.

What we think about we can feel in our body.

So if we are constantly thinking negative and defeating thoughts and have done this for years eventually the body can get sick.

So if we can make ourselves sick with our own thoughts then that means that we can also make ourselves feel better and heal our own body with the same method, our own thoughts.

Our body and our mind are connected. They can't be separated. What we think about, we will feel in our body and what we eat and drink will affect our mind and our thoughts.

What we put in our bodies when it come to the food and the drinks will affect how our mind and our brain operates. If we exercise or not will also affect our mind. So will the relationships we have. The job we go to. The amount of stress we have in our life and what kind of medicine we take.

In the end ... everything is connected and everything we do and think matters.

We’ve been led to believe that when we get sick, it’s our genetics. Or it’s just bad luck—and doctors alone hold the keys to optimal health. For years, Lissa Rankin, M.D., believed the same. But when her own health started to suffer, and she turned to Western medical treatments, she found that they not only failed to help; they made her worse. So she decided to take matters into her own hands. Through her research, Dr. Rankin discovered that the health care she had been taught to practice was missing something crucial: a recognition of the body’s innate ability to self-repair and an appreciation for how we can control these self-healing mechanisms with the power of the mind. In an attempt to better understand this phenomenon, she explored peer-reviewed medical literature and found evidence that the medical establishment had been proving that the body can heal itself for over 50 years. Using extraordinary cases of spontaneous healing, Dr. Rankin shows how thoughts, feelings, and beliefs can alter the body’s physiology. She lays out the scientific data proving that loneliness, pessimism, depression, fear, and anxiety damage the body, while intimate relationships, gratitude, meditation, sex, and authentic self-expression flip on the body’s self-healing processes. In the final section of the book, you’ll be introduced to a radical new wellness model based on Dr. Rankin’s scientific findings. Her unique six-step program will help you uncover where things might be out of whack in your life—spiritually, creatively, environmentally, nutritionally, and in your professional and personal relationships—so that you can create a customized treatment plan aimed at bolstering these health-promoting pieces of your life. You’ll learn how to listen to your body’s “whispers” before they turn to life-threatening “screams” that can be prevented with proper self-care, and you’ll learn how to trust your inner guidance when making decisions about your health and life.

From The book ... Mind Over Medicine.

I love this book and I highly recommend reading it.

Holding On Or Letting Go?

Balance is not something you find.

                                                    It's something you create.

We are all so busy right now.

But what are we actually busy doing?

Is what you are doing right now leading you in the direction of where you want to go?

Or is it leading you away from what you truly want?

Do you even stop long enough to figure out if what you are busy doing, is in alignment with your goals, vision and your own values?

Or do you constantly keep on pushing with no particular direction in mind?

Is it time stop stop and look around?

Do you feel like your life could use some calming down?

It won't happen by itself.

If you don't like your busy schedule... maybe it's time to change it?

Maybe it's time to simplify your life?

How much are you actually doing that doesn't amount to anything and that doesn't lead you in the direction of your vision or your dream?

Why are you doing it? Maybe you are doing it for the wrong reasons?

Many things we do... we simply do because somebody else wants us to do it.

It's not wrong to do things for other people because they want us to.

But it's wrong to complicate our life, when we feel in our heart, that we are not suppose to do it and by doing it, it will definitely complicate our life instead of simplifying it.

"Life is a balance of holding on, and letting go."

                                                                  - Rumi

Learn to say NO.

And the key is this....yes, we want to please others but if  we have to displease ourselves and our own purpose or mission in life, in order to to please others, then we are out of alignment or balance.

Learn to say NO.

Feeling overwhelmed? Learn to say NO.

Don't say maybe, if you want to say NO.

NO...is a complete sentence. It doesn't require justification or explanation.

Saying NO to things that don't serve you, will allow you to say YES to things that will.

Are You Finding Yourself Feeling Stuck Right Now?

Are you are finding yourself feeling stuck right now and and wondering how you got there?

Are you facing an obstacle, setback or a crisis right now and don't know how to move through it and come out on the other side?

Are you are thinking that there must be more to life, but you don't really know how to access it?

Believe me, I have been there and I want to let you know that there is a way to get unstuck and to find what you are looking for.

But first you must move beyond thinking that it can't happen for you. You must know the tools and strategies on how to do it and what also stands in the way.

I was born and raised in Sweden. As long as I can remember I always felt that Sweden was too small for me and when I was 25 years old I left and came to the US. I have lived almost 30 years in Texas.

Before I left for the US in 1987, I worked as a nurse for 6 years in Sweden. But I did not want to pursue that field in the US since I never thought it was the right path for me. Instead I got into retail and I had my own gift store in Houston for 7 years and I also had a women's apparel store for 5 years while I was living in Austin.

My life has been filled with ups and downs but in 2012 I had to go through the worst experience so far in my life. My whole life imploded and at that time it was total uncertainty and I didn't know what to do and how to move on. I was 50 years old and my life was a complete mess.
After a few months of soul-searching I decided to turn my mess into my message. I started to rebuild my life. Brick by brick...one day at a time. I designed a huge vision for the life I wanted to have and then I started to build it. In 2013 I signed up for a one year online coaching course to become a certified life coach and in 2014 I graduated. A few months later I started my online coaching business. Since that time I have also written 4 books that I self-published with the help of a good friend.
Since 2012 it is has been a bumpy ride. I have encountered plenty of obstacles and setbacks. But I know that they are part of my journey too and that is when I learn the most. I have run completely out of money twice. I have had to move back to Sweden to live and to work as a nurse to keep my business alive, twice. But I made a commitment to myself many years ago to never give up on my vision. The path to get there has changed many times, but my vision hasn't.

What do you do when your life falls apart and everything has become total uncertainty?
What do you do to turn things around?

Today Is The Perfect Day To Start Your New Life

                                                     "Start where you are.

                                                       use what you have.

                                                       Do what you can."

                                                          - Arthur Ashe

Today is the day!

What day, you might ask?

TODAY is the right moment and the perfect day to start your new life.

Are you ready?

The past is behind you...learn from it.

The future is ahead...plan and prepare for it.

The present is here...live it.

You can´t do anything about your past...but you can do something about your future.

To dramatically improve the odds of making your life better you have to take responsibility for designing your future. One great way to do this is by first leaving your old story behind and create a brand new one.

Treat you past as a school. Learn from it. Gather up information and experiences from it and then invest it in your future. Don´t beat yourself over the head with past losses and failures.
Learn from the past but don´t take up residence there.

It does take a lot of courage to let old hurt and pain go. Things that wounded you and made you bleed.
You just have to believe and have faith that what is in front of you is greater than what is behind you.

You have to make a decision that if you want to move to the second half of your life then you have to let the first one go.
You have a new chance but it won´t mean anything if you stay behind in your past.
You must enter the second half of your life with a new mind or it won´t do you any good.

If you are constantly looking back at the past you will not have enough energy for the present moment and for creating your new future.
If you are busy and distracted by the past, you won´t notice opportunities in the present.
They will just slip right by you.

Start where you are right now and decide where you want to go. It doesn´t matter how you got there. The important thing is that you create a new, more empowering story and start moving forward.

Just because you don´t know how every single step of your journey is going to unfold, that shouldn't stop you from getting started.
Put one foot in front of the other and trust that the answers and resources you seek, will appear.

You can do this.
I believe in YOU!!!

Karin

Be Willing To Make A New Start

"No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again."

                                                     - Buddha

Difficult times happens to everyone. It doesn´t matter if you are rich or poor, young or old, man or woman. It doesn't matter where you live in the world...things do happen in our lives.
Things we didn't plan for and things we didn´t expect to happen.

We can not avoid or control these storms or setbacks in our lives.
But what we can control is how we respond to them.

Are you going to allow yourself to stay in bed for several months after a setback?
Are you going to blame someone else for your situation?
Are going to continue to focus on what used to be?
Are you going to continue to focus on what you have lost... On what is no longer part of your life?

Or are you going to pull yourself together and start again?
One small action at a time?

One great key to quickly recover from a setback is to have something to go for right a way.
Don´t let if affect you for a year or longer. Put something together right away. It might not be the total answer, but you must start walking.
Life doesn´t give us what we need, it gives us what we deserve.

Have something new to focus on.
You can continue to focus on what isn´t working and what you have lost.
If you continue to do this you will eventually feel stuck in a negative pattern.

Time to shift your focus onto what is possible for you instead of focusing on the obstacles and the possible obstacles in the future.

Start walking from your desperate situation into a more empowering mode.
Start changing your philosophy and start to focus on what else you can do to make the situation change.

Start where you are.
Learn as you go.
Continue to take action.

Tip!

Be willing to learn new strategies.
Be willing to make a new start.
Be willing to go again.
