Nothing Happens Until You Make A Decision

"Making a true decision means committing yourself to achieving a result,
and then cutting yourself off from any other possibility."
                                                                  - Tony Robbins

When was the last time that you made a true decision?

The word decision comes from Latin and it literally means to "cut off"

So what does that really mean?

"True grit is making a decision and standing by it,
 doing what you must do."
- John Wayne

When you make a true decision to you actually cut off any other possibilities. You literally cut yourself off from other way of thinking and acting that doesn't align with whatever it is you want to achieve. You stop procrastinating and get off the fence.

"A wise man makes his own decisions,
an ignorant man follows public opinion."
- Chinese Proverb

If you are not in it 100% or with both feet... and you are second guessing yourself and you are looking back.
You haven't made a true decision yet.

What decision have you been putting off making lately?

Are you scared of making a true decision?

What are you afraid of... what is truly stopping you from getting off the fence and taking action on your dream and your goals?

Fear of some kind?

"It's not hard to make decisions
when you know what your true values are.
- Roy Disney

Here is something to keep in mind.
Never make permanent decisions based on temporary feelings.

Beginners Are Many, But Finishers Few

"Stick to a task until it sticks to you.

For beginners are many, but finishers few."

                                                                - Thomas S. Monson

Be like a postage stamp... stick to one thing until you get there!

Most people fail because they quit too soon. Make a plan and commit to see it through...
No Matter What!

Are you like most people... you start something and then you quit?

Why?

"We can do anything we want to if we stick with it long enough."
- Helen Keller

I have found that a lot of people want to change something in there life.
They get excited about their new goal(s) and they make a few plans and then they start... only to quit a few weeks or months later.

Most of the time people quit way to soon or they quit just before they succeed.

Often I see people try something new and if it doesn't work in a few weeks,  they will jump over to the next popular thing and when is doesn't work, they try something else. After doing this a couple of times, without being successful at accomplishing what they decided to do... they quit.

Diets are a great example of this.
A brand new fad dies shows up and a lot of people try it. After a few weeks when they see no results they declare that it wasn't a good diet and they try another diet... and another and yet another.

Here is the truth... is if they only would have stayed with one and concentrated on that one... persevered and hung in long enough... they would have been successful.

"If you are not willing to commit to work and resolve,
your possibilities will never become realities."
- Tim Fargo

My suggestion is to concentrate on one thing (don't jump around).
Be consistent.
Be patient.
Persevere a little longer and you will win.

If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.

You Are Only Confined By The Walls You Build Yourself

"To move to a new level in your life,
you must break through your comfort zone
and do things that are not comfortable."
                                                                - T. Harv Eker

People have a tendency to always think that if they have to change something in their life, it is going to get worse than what they already have.

This is one big reason that we remain where we are. We know what we have and we often don't believe that we will get something better, if we change or try something new.

This is why a lot of people will remain in dysfunctional relationships that they have outgrown years ago. Or they stay at job that bores them to death and won't allow them to grow or learn something new. Also people don't dare to move to another city because they are afraid of leaving the safety of friends and family behind. Eventually they will get stuck in their comfort zone.

If we continue like this our comfort zone will shrink and shrink until we will feel like we are wearing chains or maybe feeling like a caged bird. I believe that a lot of people actually would like to change and to do something more challenging, if they could see what the future will hold for them. But that is not possible. We have to take a leap of faith and not allow fear of the unknown to stop us.

We settle where we are and later in life we will have to deal with regrets for not trying. Often people will become angry and bitter for letting life just slip on by without doing anything about it.

Dare to venture out of your comfort zone. Start by doing something that scares you and that you haven't done before.

One small little step today and then the next day and the next day... will eventually lead to big changes, excitement and wonderful growth. But you must take the first step and also be willing to feel uncomfortable for a while until you learn and and grow.

A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.

Never Give Up - Your Day Will Come

"If you give up on your dreams, what's left?"

                                                                     - Jim Carrey

Living your dream is earned every day.

The first step is showing up for your dream every day, no matter what. Even if it´s only for one hour.
No excuses.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

Over time you will put in a lot of effort that will slowly start to pay off.

"Never stop trying.
Never stop believing.
Never give up.
Your day will come."

- Mandy Hale

There is no such thing as overnight success.
All successful people achieved their success by making daily choices.

Have patience. All things are difficult before they become easy.

Never settle.

Promise yourself that you will never give up.

Any dream worth dreaming is worth the effort to make it come true.

Following your dreams will keep your soul alive.

"Never give up on a dream just because the time it will take to accomplish it.
The time will pass anyway."

- Earl Nightingale

The Power Of Patience

                                                                   "Trust the process
                                                                 Your time is coming.
Just do the work and the results
                                                            will handle themselves."

                                                                     - Tony Gaskins

Do you know what one of the greatest enemies to your success, (whatever success is for you) is?

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but I will tell you anyway
It's PATIENCE.

Simple, but yet so complicated.
I know I struggle a lot with this. I know that I need to increase my patience muscle.
How about you? Does your patience muscle need a good workout?

Anything you want to accomplish will take time. The bigger the goal, usually the longer time it will take for you to reach it.
Patience... like faith, requires work.

Progress comes slowly. The formation of new habits and the breaking of old ones is no quick change.
I just want you to remember that hard work will pay off, and that worthwhile goals will take time to achieve.

"Patience is the acceptance that things can happen
in a different order than the one you have in mind."

- David G. Allen

One thing that we must learn is to have patience while we also maintain our enthusiasm and industriousness when pursuing our goals. Good things will take time.
Also, when we are more patient while reaching our goals, the greater appreciation we will have of our success when it comes.

On our journey to reaching our goals we will encounter setbacks and adversity. Being patient in this situation will make it easier for us to bounce back and get back on track.

So, where in your life do you need to be more patient right now?

"Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act while you are waiting."

- Joyce Meyer

Be patient. Trust the journey, even if it doesn't make sense sometimes.

Everything is coming together.

If You Don't Control Your Mind Someone Else Will

"I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty shoes."

                                                                          - Gandhi

You are not your mind.
Your mind is part of you, just like your foot or your hand.

One problem with our mind is that it is very often a big drama queen or a soap opera script writer.
Our mind makes up a lot of incredible stories filled with drama, disasters, doom and gloom and fear of things that never happened and probably never will happen either.
So, remember you are not your mind, and you are not your thoughts.

You must learn to control your mind.
Manage it and train it to work for you, instead of against you.
Never negotiate with your mind, because you will not win.

Training and controlling your own mind are the most important skills that you can ever learn in terms of success and happiness

"You have two choices,
to control your mind or to let your mind control you."
- Paulo Coelho

How do we train our minds?

First you must start my paying attention to your own thoughts.
I suggest that you write some of them down on a piece of paper and then sit down and evaluate these thoughts.
Ask yourself... is this really true?
Your mind will constantly produce thoughts, around 50 000 per day so you can't write them all down. But you will see a pattern after a while because some thoughts will return every day and several times every day.

Unfortunately, most of our thoughts are not supportive of our wealth and happiness.
As you identify these thoughts you can begin to replace disempowering thoughts with empowering ones.

Is it time for you to adapt a new way of thinking?

Decide that today your mind will be better if you start using more empowering thoughts.
Decide that you will no longer allow your thoughts to run you. Stop negotiating with your mind. Instead show your mind that you are the boss.

No thoughts lives in your head rent free.
You will pay for negative and disempowering thoughts in energy, happiness, health, wealth and time.

If you want to move ahead in your life and grow as an individual, you must start monitoring your thoughts and decide to turn disempowering thoughts into empowering ones.
You must have thoughts that will assist you in creating happiness, health and wealth.

When a disempowering thought appears, you can just say... "cancel or next or thanks for your help, but I don't need you anymore", and then replace it with a more empowering one.

Start practicing this way of thinking and your life will quickly change for the better.

Be The Best Version Of You!

Self-discipline begins with the mastery of your thoughts.
If you don't control what you think,
you can't control what you do.

It is simple to improve on our lives and to get what we want, but it isn´t easy.

If it was easy, everybody would be living their dream life.

So why don´t we?

Because we are so busy waiting to feel like doing it.

I have news for you... You Will Never Feel Like It!

A lot of times we are waiting for something or someone to come along to inspire and motivate us.

What about if they don´t show up! What are you going to do then?

It requires discipline and motivation to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Both discipline and motivation are inner muscles.
You are responsible for growing and developing these inner muscles.
No one can do it for you.

In other words, you must do the work.

"Without self-discipline,
success is impossible, period."
- Loy Holtz

Most of us don´t ever feel like doing the things we really need to do. If you are waiting for the day you feel like doing something, you will be waiting a long time.

You just have to make yourself do the things that you really don´t want to do.

No one ever feels like going on a diet and eat carrot sticks and celery instead of doughnuts.

No one wants to spend an hour every night at the gym, while they could just hang out in front of the TV instead.

No one wants to get up an hour early to read and learn a new skill(s).

No one wants to read a book when they can hang out on social media.

You have to force yourself to do the things that you really don´t want to do so that you can be all that you are supposed to be.

"Self-respect leads to self-discipline."
- Clint Eastwood

You cannot wait around to do it until you feel like it.

You will never feel like it.

Just Do It!!!

What Do You Really Want?

"Never give up on what you really want to do."

                                                        - H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Unfortunately, too often we will talk ourselves out of what we really want.

Why do we do this?

A lot of times it can be old beliefs and old feelings associated with our dream.
They will pop up in our mind and mess with us and with our self-esteem.
Things like past failures and doubts that we will ever be able to accomplish what we really want.

Can you remember how many times in your life that you have abandoned something that was important to you because of feelings like......

It is way too hard
There is not enough support
Not enough time or money to make my dream happen
People won´t like me if I pursue my dream
I am afraid to be too visible and to show the world who I am
I am too old or too young
I don´t know the right people
I can´t learn the skills I need to have to pursue my dream

How many excuses have you heard yourself use in your lifetime?
How many times have you abandon your new ideas?
How many dreams have fallen by the wayside?

Now this is not about judging yourself and your past.
This is about starting fresh, no matter what has gone on before.
It is about trying something new.
It is about letting go of your old beliefs and not to allow them to interfere or stop you.

"If you really want to do something, you'll find a way.
If you don't, you'll find an excuse. "
- Jim Rohn

The first thing you need to do is......
To visualize your desired outcome.
What do you really... really... really want?
Can you actually see what it is that you want for yourself and your life?

To be able to do this process you most likely need to spend some time alone.
Listen to your inner voice or dialogue.
Not the one that tells you to get busy and the one that keeps pushing you to look "out there".

Have some alone time and focus on your dream.
Spending time alone will start the process of discovering or re-discovering your dream.

Make sure you carve out some quiet time for yourself every day. Even if it´s only 5 minutes.
Increase little by little.

You don´t need to fill your life and your precious time with people or activities that undermine or sabotage your dream.

Just remind yourself that you deserve to live your dream.
You deserve to feel whole and empowered.
You are enough.

Sometimes you need to be alone, to find out who you really are and what you really want in life.

Your Talents Are Precious Gifts Given To You

                                                                 "Use your talents.

They are precious gifts given to you to put to work."

                                                                   - Robyn O'Brian

Did you know that every single person on this planet is designed from birth with their own special talents and abilities?

If you develop these talents and these abilities, they can enable you to accomplish almost anything that you want in life.
Everyone is genetically created to be able to do something extraordinary, something they enjoy doing, something they can do well and something they get great satisfaction from doing.

If you look back at your own life, can you think of something that has been responsible for most of your success up until now?

What have you done in the past that has given you the best results?

What have you done that has given you the most satisfaction?

If you look back on your life and you past, you will find clues that will guide you to your future.

Celebrate your gifts and talents.
They made you unique.

Ask yourself a couple of great questions.

What am I good at?

What am I good at today?

What have I been good at in the past?

What do I enjoy doing?

What could I be good at?

What can I see myself doing in the future?

Take a few minutes to ponder on these questions.
Write down the answers.

"Your talents are God's gift to you.
What you do with them is your gift back to God."

Do you know your unique gifts and talents... and are you using them?

Right now, someone, somewhere needs what you have to offer.

Dream Big and Never Settle

"Setting goals is the first step

in turning the invisible into the visible."

                                                                    - Tony Robbins

Most of the time we have very vague plans or a very unclear vision of what we want. Most of us want something to change or something to happen, but we don't sit down and actually decide on what we really want.

I want to lose some weight.

I want another job.

I want to start saving some money.

I want to become healthier and more fit.

I want my relationships to improve.

I want more energy.

I want to become more active.

I know these are all good intentions, but they won't get you very far. You have to become specific of what you want. Just wanting something is not enough for taking you all the way.

A lot of times we might have a lot of commitment, but we don't end up reaching our goals.

Commitment is great but there are a couple of things that you need to go along with your commitment.

A Specific Plan Of Action.

How are you planning to reach your goal?

You need a "road-map" that will take you from where you are to today, to where you want to be in the future. Put in writing and also put a specific time when do you want to have this goal accomplished. Just having a finish date will put the pressure on you to start working on your goal.

Also seizing the opportunity to take the action is a very important step. Being ready to seize the opportunity when it happens.

If you have vague plans... you probably will have vague results.

How are you going to be able to go from just wanting something to happen... to actually making it happen?

Be specific.

Write it down.

Take action and get started... TODAY!

Do something today that your future self will thank you for.
